Administrative Bodies

A) The Dean
The Dean of the faculty has the following functions and many others provided by the provisions of Law 4009/2011, the Organization and the Internal Regulation:

a) calls the Deanship, settle its agenda, defines a Deanship member as rapporteur for issues, chairs its work and introduces the issues for which it has not been designated other member of the Deanship as rapporteur,
b) supervises the application of the School’s Studies Regulations and the compliance with the existing provisions of the law, Organization and Internal Regulation,
c) responsible for the implementation of Deanship’s decisions,
d) supervises the Deanship’s services,
e) establishes, after consulting the Deanship, the Professor’s evaluation committees, according to article 21 of Law 4009/2011. The competence for the constitution of selection and promotion committees of Professors, according to article 19 of Law 4009/2011, belongs to the General Assembly of the Schools, afterwards the Deanship agreement,

f) establishes committees for study or handling specific issues within his competence.

The Dean redacts annual review report and submits it for approval to the General Assembly of the Faculty.

Dean is substituted by the Head, which predates the election.

 

B) The Deanship
The Deanship consists of the Dean, the Heads of Schools and a student representative of the Faculty without voting rights.
The Deanship has the following functions and many others provided by the provisions of Law 4009/2011, the Organization and Internal Regulation:
a) the general supervision of the faculty operation and educational programs,
b) the formulation of Faculty’s general educational and research policy, scheduling and strategy of  its route and its development, as well as regular review of relevant activities within the institution’s policy and the decisions of Council, Senate and Rector,
c) scheduling and recommendation to Rector for faculty Professors’ vacancy, afterwards the recommendation of the General Assembly of the School,
d) the preparation and publication of the Professors’ lists provided in paragraph 3 of Article 19 of Law 4009/2011,
e) the invitation of visiting Professors vacancy of teaching positions and establishment of relevant selection committee, afterwards the recommendation of the General Assembly of the School,
 f) the classification of students in special education programs after successful completion of the general education program, if it is applicable. For this classification, it is taken into account the grades of the entrance examinations, and their preferences according to specific provisions of the Organization,
g) the approval of educational programs’ change from the students via transfer credits, afterwards the students’ request. For this change, it is taken into account the entrance examinations’ grades, the students’ preferences and the maintenance of the total number of students per educational program,
h) the award titles Honorary Doctor, Honorary and Emeritus Professor, afterwards the recommendation of the General Assembly of the School,
i) the decision for the educational programs’ organization in cooperation with other institutions, afterwards the recommendation of the  General Assembly of the Schools,
j) the expression of opinion for the programmatical planning  of the institution, in the part concerning the faculty, according to case b of paragraph 1 of article 62 of Law 4009/2011,

 k) the regulation of the functioning way of the Deanship’s services,

C) General Assembly
General Assembly of the School consists of the Professors and lecturers of the Faculty, as well as one representative, per class, of the members of Special Teaching Personnel, Laboratory Teaching Personnel and Special Technical Laboratory Personnel, defined by direct, secret and universal vote among the staff of the relevant categories.
